A risk assessment tells you what should happen. An inspection tells you what's actually happening — today, on the floor, in the cut. The two together close the loop.
Regulation 5 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999 (MHSWR) requires you to make arrangements for the effective monitoring of your control measures. A diary of scheduled, recorded inspections is exactly that arrangement — and it's the evidence an HSE inspector, your insurer or a Constructionline assessor will want to see. Done well, it stops small defects (a missing toe-board, a damaged COSHH label, a frayed sling) becoming the RIDDOR 2013 report nobody wanted to make.

Inspections aligned to the Work at Height Regulations 2005 and the seven-day scaffold regime — tags, ties, edge protection and LOLER 1998 lifting equipment.
Fire, COSHH & PPE
Fire precautions and escape routes, COSHH 2002 storage and labelling, PUWER 1998 guarding, plus the right PPE — correctly worn, fit-tested and in date.
Welfare facilities
Toilets, washing, drying and rest areas checked against CDM 2015 Schedule 2 — because welfare is a legal duty and a clear signal of how a site is run.
